Running with my Vibram Fivefingers

The weather was absolutely incredible today! I didn’t check what the temperature actually was, but regardless of what the thermometer and weather man said, it was one beautiful day which the Lord made. Last year I bought a pair of Vibram FiveFinger shoes and they have made running so tremendously fun to do. Today I ran 3.05 miles and my time was 25:42 . Now in my defense I must first say I stopped to take pictures while I was running 🙂 and second I had a big hill to climb. Okay, okay, I suppose that isn’t a legitimate excuse, however I must say that it did make the run much more difficult.

You can actually check out a map of my run by going to this link>> http://bit.ly/w1GG3D I included a picture of the beautiful sunset behind my house. The sunset made the house look very dark, but I think you get the gist that it was a good evening! Feel free to let me know if you’ve set any goals this year to make running part of your life in 2012. I would love to hear what you’ve got going! You can even comment to this post and keep yourself even more accountable to the others who read this blog. If you don’t I wouldn’t blame you 🙂 … As for myself I don’t have a specific goal for running, but I have other goals of keeping myself physically fit. I do believe that running will become more a part of my life this year. The one goal I know I want to do this year is Insanity Asylum. I’ve already finished Insanity twice so I think I’m ready to take on this NEW program!

Whether you are running a few miles down the street, on the treadmill or “digging deeper” through a Insanity workout I highly recommend the Vibram FiveFinger sports shoes. I personally own the Bikila LS

Three reasons I recommend these shoes:

  1. I love these shoes, so for me it boosts my excitement to want to get out there and workout
  2. They improve running posture, maybe I’ll explain in a future post, but here’s a book all about it, “Born to Run
  3. Believe it or not, these shoes help me run faster. They alter the way your feet hit the ground.
