Pursuing a Kingdom

Kingdom: a country whose ruler is a king or a queen; the spiritual world of which God is king.

In a world where Kingdoms have become more of something we read about in a fairy tale and less of something we experience in the real world, as Americans we have little knowledge of its influence in the lives of every day people. Or do we? You see, if you are a believer, you and I are a part of God’s kingdom! He rules and reigns in the hearts of those who trust Him as their Savior. If He is truly reigning in your heart, it is HIS law that you obey and it is HIM that you seek to please.

Not everyone is a part of this beautiful kingdom. There are those who would rather live for themselves rather than place themselves under a heavenly King. There are also those who have never heard. Their hearts are darkened and their eyes blinded by the one who would keep them from truth.

As many of you may have heard, Benjamin and I (and our children) will be heading to the country (and kingdom) of Thailand in January to spend six months working with the Williams Family. The Williams were sent out of our church three years ago to reach the Thai and Burmese people with the gospel, to bring people to God’s Kingdom!

In light of our upcoming trip, we’ve decided to reinstate our blog to share how God is working in and through us in this new adventure. We are SO excited to see what God is going to do! Here are some frequent questions that have come up that we’d like to answer here:

When will you be going? It’s looking like we will leave in January.
How long will you be gone? The type of Visa we are applying for allows for six months max in the country. So that’s how long we plan to stay.
Where will you be staying? The Williams Family is ministering in the town of Mae Sai along the border of Myanmar. We will have our own home to stay in, hopefully close to where the Williams live.
What will you be doing there? Helping in any way we can! Benjamin will be working alongside Bro. Nat to reach out to the Thai and Burmese men. We will also be doing some language study during our stay.

We appreciate your prayers as we seek God’s direction during our trip. There is a lot of preparation that needs to take place, both stateside and in Thailand, and we know that God will work out all of the details as He sees fit.
